Savage Moon (PSN, PS3)
Pros:
In essence you build turrets to defend against hordes of Starship Trooperish alien bugs. It takes a bit of strategic thinking to setup your defense. The graphics are ok.
Cons:
It's a bit more fast-paced then I'd have liked. It's challenging, but I'm sure you could always find a guide to make it easier (probably too easy) as discovering the right defence is part of the fun. There's practically no story or reason why any of what's going on, you're just thrown right into it.
Overall:
For $9.99 would I recommend this game? Probably, if you like the genre. I like strategy and tower defense games (usually) so I had fun with it. The game contains 12 levels and then a "vengeance" mode. Savage Moon also has trophies for those that care. There's probably better (free) games like this online, but sometimes you just can't beat playing a game on your HDTV for a change of pace. I don't understand why they don't release demos for games like this I think it would really help out sales, even if it was just one level.
