Prince of Persia (XBOX 360)
Pros:
The environments are beautiful, as is the entire art direction of the game. The controls for maneuvering the environment work about 95% flawlessly. From the moment you start playing you're immersed in the storyline. Soundtrack fits perfectly. Voice acting is also good. Infrequent fighting (read cons to see why this is a plus).
Cons:
Combat is absolutely horrid. Fighting involves extra long boss battles that rely mostly on quicktime events. Throughout my entire play through the game glitched once (at the end too, dammit).
Overall:
This game is, in a single word, fun. Jumping, leaping, and flying throughout the landscape is entertaining and (somewhat) challenging. I've heard gripes of OMGOSH you can't die in this game. To anyone that says that as a negative, you're a moron. It would accomplish nothing except dragging out the game. You're immersed in this fantasy world from the beginning and I genuinely cared about the two main characters. The chatter between them is usually pretty good, although I think some of it could have went on as your exploring instead of having to pause to talk to each other. I also found the ending (although it is a to be continued ending) satisfying. You definitely can relate to the Prince's choice at the end. If it weren't for the annoying fighting system, I would have given this our highest rating. So, there, games are about having fun and being entertained, and this delivers. I've never played a Prince of Persia game before this, but I'm now a fan and definitely looking forward to the sequel.
